On December 9, 2016 at approximately 5:30am, members of the Thurmont Police Department and the Frederick County Sheriff’s Office served a Search & Seizure Warrant in the 100 block of W. Main St. in Thurmont. The purpose was to serve arrest warrants on two subjects and search for evidence of a serious assault and robbery that occurred on November 19, 2016. Two subjects were arrested and identified as: David Alan Plaza, age 53; and Dylan James Plaza, age19, both of Thurmont. An investigation revealed that on November 19, 2016, a male victim, age 18, from Falling Waters, West Virginia, was seriously assaulted by the Plaza subjects, threatened with a shotgun and knife, and robbed of money and clothing. David A. Plaza was charged with: Robbery; First Degree Assault; Second Degree Assault; Theft: less $1,000 value. Dylan J. Plaza was charge with: Robbery; Second Degree Assault; Theft: less $1,000 value.
Both subjects were taken to Central Booking awaiting an Initial Appearance with a District Court Commissioner.
