CHRISTMAS COMES EARLY WITH GENEROUS DONATION FOR INDIANA STATE POLICE

Demotte, Jasper County-Christmas came early, yesterday evening, for the Indiana State Police K-9 handlers, when Grant Manns, 16 of Demotte, a sophomore at Kankakee Valley High School and a member of Boy Scout Troop 167 in Demotte chartered by WR Fabricating, donated a K-9 bite suit.

The K-9 handlers from District 13 Lowell were selected by Grant as he achieves to earn his Eagle Scout rank.  An Eagle Scout is the highest achievement rank attainable in the Boy Scouts.  Only a small percent are granted this rank after a lengthy review process.  Requirements necessary to achieve this take years to fulfill and part of those requirements is doing something for your community.

Grant held a car wash (fund raiser) this past May to raise funds to buy the bite suit and was able to raise over $1,200.00 to purchase the Kimono Lite Training (bite) Suit.  The bite suits are protective suits that are specially designed for K-9 training.

The donation was given to us yesterday evening during their troop meeting.

On hand to receive the donation was Master Trooper Fred Trammel K-9 handler and his K-9 partner “Rykr”
