The Third Precinct’s Heroes and Helpers Event of 2016 took place on December 8^th, at Target’s Central Islip location.
 
Twenty children from the Third Precinct community participated in the event, each with their own special shopping partners (a Police Officer along with a member of the Third Precinct’s Police Explorers).  Police Officers and Explorers led their buddies throughout the store, helping to select gifts from their buddies’ gift lists.  The event paired officers with in-need youths for a night of holiday shopping and the opportunity to forge strong relationships in the process. 
 
Special guest, Third Precinct’s Commanding Officer, Inspector Robert Waring was also on hand to join in the event.  The Third Precinct would like to thank Target team members for playing a big role in making the Heroes and Helpers event a huge success!
