H.M. Miller, H.R. Gray and the City of Akron will be closing the section of S. Arlington St. located between E. Exchange Street and Clark Street beginning Wednesday, December 14, 2016. The closure is due to a continuing sewer separation project in the area and will last approximately three months. The majority of the S. Arlington St. traffic will be detoured using E. Exchange St., Brown St., Lovers Lane to S. Arlington Street and the reverse. The local northbound traffic will be detoured using 2nd Ave., River St., Case Ave. to E. Market. The intersection of Johnston St. and S. Arlington Street will be closed to traffic during this time. The northbound traffic from Johnston St. will be detoured using Margaret St., Corley St., Beaver St. to E. Exchange St. and the southbound traffic will be detoured using Inman St., Lovers Lane to S. Arlington St. Access will be maintained for the local businesses and residents. Emergency vehicles will also have complete access at all times.
