Criminal Charges Filed in Shooting of Cloverdale Police Officer
Putnam County—Indiana State Police detectives from the Putnamville Post have consulted with Putnam County Prosecutor Timothy Bookwalter concerning the investigation into the December 10, 2016 shooting of Cloverdale Police Officer Luke Brown.
ISP detectives are currently in possession of a Putnam County arrest warrant for 48-year-old Jeffrey P. Hunter of Putnam County. The warrant is for Attempted Murder, Level 1 felony; Resisting Law Enforcement with a Vehicle, Level 6 felony; Battery (misdemeanor); and Theft (misdemeanor).
The Indiana State Police have constant monitoring of Jeffrey P. Hunter and anticipate the physical arrest of Hunter in coming days at the conclusion of his medical treatment at an Indianapolis hospital.
No other information will be released at this time.

Under the Law, criminal charges are merely accusations and the defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty.
