Flood Warning until 08:41AM Friday
...The National Weather Service in Eureka has issued a Flood Warning in cooperation with the California Department of Water Resources for the following rivers in California... Russian River near Hopland affecting Mendocino County A frontal system will bring periods of moderate rain today. This will cause a rapid and steep rise on the Russian River. Forecast rainfall amounts of 2 to 4 inches in the River Basin will result in the river exceeding its bank. The National Weather Service in Eureka has issued a
* Flood Warning for the RUSSIAN RIVER near Hopland.
* From this afternoon to Friday morning...or until the warning is cancelled.
* At 10:00 AM Thursday the stage was 14.2 feet.
* Moderate flooding is forecast.
* Flood stage is 21.0 feet.
* IMPACTS...At 24.0 feet...Severe bank erosion can occur. Highway 175 near the Russian River closed due to flooding. Many secondary roads flooded in the Hopland, Ukiah and Talmage areas.
* FLOOD HISTORY...This crest compares to a previous crest of 23.3 feet on Jan 17 1954. &&
* AFFECTED AREAS: MENDOCINO
