Hamilton County Travel Watch Reduced to Travel Advisory. Roads Passable But Still Slippery in Areas. Use Caution

The orange level Travel Watch for unincorporated roads in Hamilton County has been reduced to a yellow level Travel Advisory effective 10AM on December 17 until further notice. This is the lowest level of local travel advisory and means that routine travel or activities may be restricted in areas because of a hazardous situation. Individuals should use caution or avoid those areas. Unincorporated roads are those roads maintained by Hamilton County, typically roads outside city and town limits.

Major roads in Hamilton County are passable but may have areas that are still slick with ice and rain. Side streets and less travelled roads may still be slippery. Use caution if travel is necessary. Untreated areas such as sidewalks and driveways are especially slippery this morning.

As a reminder with winter driving, reduce speeds, leave extra room between vehicles, make sure all windows are clear of snow and ice, turn on lights to increase visibility even during the day, and make sure to keep an emergency kit along with a fully charged cell phone handy. In case of a slide off or crash, contact Hamilton County Public Safety Communications at 317-773-1282 or 9-1-1 for an emergency.
