Troopers Participate In Shop With A Cop Event
Portage, Porter County-Indiana State Police were happy to participate this Saturday morning, December 17th, 2016, with the Indiana Black Troopers Association in a “Shop With A Cop” event at the Portage Walmart.
Troopers volunteered their time to participate. This event brought law enforcement and children together. Children and their parents were paired up with a trooper to shop for clothing, toys, or purchase something they needed.
The children were chosen for the event through submission of names by local schools and the community.
This event was made possible by the IBTA which is an organization made of active and retired troopers from around the state of Indiana. Special thanks to the Portage Walmart for their generosity and assistance in this event.
Particpating were: First Sergeant Weems, Sergeant Dwayne Dillahunty, Corporal Dan Avitia, Master Troopers Lionel Douglas, Brian White and Taylor Bryant, Troopers Khari Walton, Davonne Barlow and Eric Madry
