Snow Emergency

The City of Sleepy Eye is declaring a snow emergency starting this evening at 10:00 PM (Sunday the 18th). All vehicles in the downtown emergency area need to be moved by midnight. Any vehicle left in that area is subject to ticketing and/or towing. These areas include; 2nd Av NW/SW from the railroad tracks to Walnut St, 1st Ave from Oak St to Walnut St, 2nd Ave NE/SE from Oak St to Walnut St, Oak St from 2nd Ave NW to 3rd Ave NE, all of St Hwy 4 (3rd Ave NW/SW) within the city limits, and all of US Hwy 14 (Main St E/W) within the city limits.

For residential and all other areas vehicles need to be moved within 24 hours after a snow emergency has been declared. After moving from unplowed location the unplowed spot must remain open until it can be cleared and sufficient room must be left for the plow to do so. Vehicles not moved are subject to ticketing and/or towing.

This ordinance and all other City of Sleepy Eye ordinances can be viewed at the Clerk's Office located at 200 Main St East during regular business hours.
