Putnamville Troopers Participate in Christmas for Kids Shopping
Vermillion County—This morning, Indiana State Police troopers from the Putnamville Post, along with officers from the Parke and Vermillion County Sheriff’s Offices, Rockville Police Department, Clinton Police Department, Indiana Department of Natural Resources Law Enforcement, Rosedale Police, Indiana State Fire Marshal’s Office and the Parke County Probation Office, participated in the annual Parke-Vermillion FOP (Fraternal Order of Police) Christmas Shopping with Kids event held at the Clinton Wal-Mart. The event brings together the community, merchants, law enforcement and children.
During the event, children and their parents are teamed up with a law enforcement officer to shop for various clothing items that the little ones may need, especially this time of year. One toy item was also provided for the children. The kids were chosen for the event through the submission of names by local schools, law enforcement, and the community.
This annual event is all made possible by the generosity of Parke and Vermillion area merchants, the Parke-Vermillion FOP, the caring nature of the community, and the willingness of the law enforcement agencies.
Some photos from today were Rockville Police Chief Randy Kneeland, shopper Jacob, and Trooper Tim Rader; Vermillion County Sheriff’s Deputy Bob Roberts, Parke County Sheriff’s Chief Deputy Jason Frazier, Parke County Probation Officer Lexi Frazier, and shoppers Zoey and Angel; and ISP Sergeant Joe Watts and shopper Emily.
