Earlier today the Marion County Coroners' Office contacted the Indiana State Police to report a third fatal crash. In the overnight hours of Friday December 16th, a Ford Taurus was involved in a crash on I-65 at the 106.1 mile marker. A passenger in that vehicle is reported to have been ejected. That person was transported to the hospital and pronounced deceased. The Ford Tauras was located Saturday afternoon, prior us being notified of the deceased subject, and towed as an abandoned car. Police are waiting to speak with the driver of that vehicle. The information of the crash was just received a short time ago, this is an ongoing investigation with only preliminary information available at this time.

There were a significant amount of vehicles that were left in or along the interstates. In the best effort to ensure safety, and with the threat of more incoming ice the following night, the vehicles were removed by tow trucks throughout the day on Saturday. Some vehicles had obviously been involved in a crash, and others were just left abandoned.
