Suspects Arrested in Stolen Vehicle
On December 18th, 2016 Morgan Hill Officers were called out to the 15000 block of Vineyard Blvd to investigate a report, two men were seen breaking into a parked vehicle. As officers were arriving on scene, a witness told them they saw the two men leaving in a red colored Mitsubishi sedan with DGDG license plate. The information was disseminated to all officers working that day. At 4:33 pm Morgan Hill Dispatch reviewed a call that two men were seen going through mailboxes in the 100 block of La Crosse Dr. A Morgan Hill Officer arrived in the area and saw the two men leaving in a red Mitsubishi. The officer conducted an emergency stop by activating his lights and siren. As the vehicle came to a stop a male passenger jumped out of the vehicle and ran towards Nob Hill Foods.
The driver who was later identified as suspect Elijah Gonzalez 23 out of San Jose was detained and arrested for warrants and driving a stolen vehicle. The passenger suspect Ryan Mitchell 35 out of San Jose, who fled the scene was located a short distance away and arrested for resisting arrest, being in possession of stolen property, possession of burglary tools and drug paraphernalia. Suspects Gonzalez and Mitchell were booked in the Santa Clara County Jail for the violations. A search of the vehicle was conducted and Officers located stolen mail, narcotics, California identification cards and a black bb gun with the orange tip removed.
