The National Weather Service has issued a winter storm watch from Thursday morning through Friday morning.
Heavy snow with accumulations of 6 or more inches likely with some areas likely to see a foot or more.
Snow will start between late morning and mid-afternoon on Thursday and become heavy at times late Thursday afternoon and night and will come to an end from south to north late Thursday night through Friday morning.
Travel will become difficult at best by late in the day Thursday and Thursday night with some power outages possible where temperatures linger around the freezing mark due to a potential period of wet snow. Winds from the Northeast at 10 to 20 mph with gusts up to 30 mph and temperatures in the mid 20s to lower 30s and visibility of one quarter mile or less at times.
A winter storm watch means there is a potential for significant snow, sleet or ice accumulations that may impact travel.
