Search for missing juvenile, Zeke Schultz, of Anaheim is found safe and reunited with his family

SUMMARY:
On Wednesday, December 28th at approximately 6:17 p.m., deputies from the Barstow Sheriff’s Station responded to the desert area near Hodge Road, East of I15 following the report of a missing juvenile, Zeke Schultz.
Zeke was reported missing by his father who advised deputies that he and Zeke had been riding motorcycles a few miles east of I15 when he lost sight of his son. Zeke was last seen at 3:00 p.m., riding a blue dirt bike wearing a red helmet, stripped blue sweater, red riding pants. Deputies began a search of the area and requested the assistance of Sheriff’s aviation. An aerial search immediately began assisting deputies on the ground. The Volunteer Forces Division was contacted, and search and rescue members were requested, responded and began searching the area.
At approximately 3:00 a.m., a Sheriff’s Department Reserve Deputy riding an off-road vehicle was involved in an accident and sustained major injuries. He was airlifted to a local area hospital where he is being treated for his injuries.
The search continued throughout the night and at 7:20 a.m., on Thursday, December 29th, search and rescue members located Zeke. He was found to be in good condition and was reunited with his family.
The Reserve Deputy remains hospitalized; his injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.
