20-yr old male in custody after leading GCSO Deputies in lengthy pursuit through Greene, Lawrence & Dade Counties
At approximately 7:47 a.m., Greene County Sheriff's Deputies were responding to a residence located in the area of South Farm Road 135 and West Farm Road 164 to check for an individual with several outstanding warrants. Deputies located a vehicle matching the description provided by the caller and attempted to initiate a traffic stop; the driver failed to stop and led Deputies thru Greene County, Dade County and briefly in Lawrence County during a nearly hour and a half long pursuit.
"Through the outstanding teamwork of the Greene County Sheriff's Office, the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the Dade County Sheriff's Office and the Lawrence County Sheriff's Office, we were able to apprehend a person who posed a dangerous threat to our communities," states Sheriff Jim Arnott. "Thankfully, no one was injured during this incident."
The 20-year old male was apprehended in Everton without incident and transported to the Greene County Jail. The investigation is still on-going. Aside from the outstanding warrants, several charges including Driving While Intoxicated and Resisting Arrest will be submitted to the Greene County Prosecuting Attorney's Office for review; additional charges may be submitted for offenses committed in Dade County and Lawrence County by those respective agencies.
