Just after midnight on December 30, 2016 the police department received a 911 call from a female on the 300 block of Main St. The caller/victim reported that she was just assaulted by a man who came up behind her and grabbed her. Officers arrived on scene and contacted the victim, who is a 43 year old Pleasanton Resident. She told officers she was walking home on Main St. from one of the local restaurants when she saw, what appeared to be, an early 90’s Honda Accord drive past her. As the vehicle drove past the victim, the driver made a u-turn and parked along W. Angela St. The victim heard the vehicle door open and the driver get out. Suddenly, she was grabbed from behind in a bear hug.
The victim was able to break free and pulled out her phone and called 911. The suspect got back into his vehicle as he saw the victim on the phone. She did not see which direction the suspect went. The victim was uninjured during the assault.
The suspect is described as a Hispanic male, 35 to 40 years old with short brown or black hair. He did not have any facial hair but his face was described as “long.” He was about 5’-10” to 6’ tall, weighing 200 to 230 pounds with a muscular build. He was wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt. The victim was not sure of the description of any other clothing he was wearing. She described the suspect as “clean cut” and “good looking.”
This case is currently being investigated by the Criminal Investigations Unit. There are several surveillance cameras in the area that may have evidence essential to this case. All leads are being pursued at this time.
