The Shorewood Police Department is investigating an apartment basement burglary in the 4000 Block of N. Morris Bl. At 11:07 p.m. on 01/01/16, an apartment resident observed a black male, heavy set, 6'02", bald, wearing a dark hoodie-style sweatshirt exit the laundry area of the basement with prying tools protruding from his pocket. Damage was found to the basement entrance and a coin operated laundry machine. Nothing of value was obtained.

Residents are reminded to please call the police and report anything you observe that may be suspicious. Apartment residents are asked to be vigilant of common areas of your apartment complex and to not allow anyone into the building that you don't know.
