Sullivan County---This evening at 6:54, Indiana State Police and Sullivan County emergency agencies responded to a two-vehicle crash on US 41 at County Road 300 North. The crash injured one driver.
Preliminary investigation revealed a 2001 Mercury Grand Marquis, driven by 78-year-old Elizabeth Coffey of Shelburn, IN., was westbound on CR 300 N attempting to cross US 41. In doing so, Coffey drove into the path of a southbound 1997 Chevrolet Blazer, driven by 27-year-old Abbey Day of Clay City, IN., resulting in the Coffey vehicle being struck in the passenger side.
Elizabeth Coffey was transported to Terre Haute Regional Hospital for treatment of what is believed to be non-life threatening injuries. She is undergoing testing at this time, but her injuries appear to be of a minor nature.
Abbey Day was not injured.
The crash was investigated by ISP Trooper Justin Bell. Assisting were the Sullivan County Sheriff’s Office, Sullivan County EMS, and the Sullivan Fire Department.
Drugs and/or alcohol were not a factor. No citations were issued.
No pictures available.
