A severe winter storm is expected to arrive this weekend
A severe winter storm is expected to arrive this weekend. While the Petaluma River is not expected to flood, there may be some local street flooding and road closures. City crews will monitor creeks 24 hours a day and take appropriate action, including street closures and evacuation notices as needed.
Citizens are advised to monitor the local weather channels on television and radio, and take the appropriate actions to protect yourselves and your property.
Sandbags and sand are available to the public on Hopper Street at the end of Caulfield Lane.
In case of an actual life threatening emergency, please dial 9-1-1 and inform the operator of your emergency and location.
Quick tips:
- clear your roof gutters and street gutters before the storm
- stay away from downed power lines
- do not drive through standing water or go around street barricades
- have 3-days of supplies, including warm blankets in the event of sustained power outages
