The Shorewood Police Department is investigating a residential burglary in the 4100 Block of N. Newhall St. An unknown actor(s) made entry to the residence through the rear door of the residence at that location. The burglary occurred sometime between 4:00 pm on January 4, 2017, and 1:00 pm on January 7, 2017. Electronics and a small safe were taken from the residence.

We believe the suspects involved in the recent burglaries in our area are targeting homes that do not show signs of occupancy at the time of burglary (i.e. no lights on during hours of darkness, mail visible in the mailbox, packages left outside the entry to the home, no movement inside the home, etc). The Shorewood Police Department is coordinating with surrounding jurisdictions that have had similar incidents recently and have identified possible suspects in these cases. We will continue to work with these other jurisdictions to locate and apprehend these individuals.
