Storm update. Morgan Hill still experiencing flooding and power outages.
The Morgan Hill community has experienced significant water related impacts with the storms of the past 24 hours.
At this time the City can confirm road closures as follows:
• Monterey/Watsonville Road
• Wright Avenue (Monterey/Hale)
• Bisceglia
• La Jolla
Additionally the following areas should be avoided due high water in the roadways:
• La Crosse Area
• Maple Leaf Mobile Home Park
• Woodland Mobile Home Park
• La Jolla south of La Crosse
• Main/Hale
• Stoney Creek near Del Monte
• Llagas between Del Monte and Old Monterey
• Wright and Peak

A power outage in the Nordstrom neighborhood has affected 183 homes. There is no estimate on when the power will be restored. PG&E crews are responding.
Morgan Hill Public Safety and maintenance personnel have been working diligently throughout the day and will continue to work through the night. The City is in regular contact with the Santa Clara County Water District, PG&E, CALFIRE and other agencies as necessary.
The public is reminded to use caution when driving and to stay clear of any high water areas. Additionally, drivers and pedestrians are advised to stay clear of all creeks and waterways. Flash floods can occur within a few minutes with extreme force. Be aware that there may be open manholes on several roadways.
The rain is forecast to taper as the night goes on however, there is the potential for significant runoff from the hills even as the rain decreases. It is anticipated that rain will continue through January 13th and the potential for flooding will continue to be an ongoing concern.
