Armed robbery investigation
On January 12th, 2017 at approximately 8:44 p.m. The Columbia Township Police Department was dispatched to the Citgo gas station located at 188 S. Main St. in the village of Brooklyn for an armed robbery that just occurred. Information on the call was that the suspect entered the business and presented a firearm and removed an undisclosed amount of cash from the register. The suspect then fled the area in a sedan traveling Northbound on S. Main St.
The suspect is described as a white male with black hair. This suspect is 5’7” to 5’10” in height and weighing approximately 175 pounds. The suspect was wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt with the word “Nike” across the front of the shirt.
The area was scoured by the responding officers in an attempt to locate the suspect. These efforts were unsuccessful and the suspect is still at large at the time of the press release. Assisting Columbia Township Police was The Napoleon Township Police Department. There were no reported injuries as a result of this incident. The business does have video surveillance and is being examined for further evidence.
