Deputies arrest two jail visitors for Bringing Narcotics into a Jail Facility;the Inmate also faces addl charges

SUSPECT(S): Brian Godden, 34 years old, Inmate housed at Morongo Basin Jail
Amy Simms, 43 years old, Yucca Valley
Alisa Henderson, 59 years old, Yucca Valley
SUMMARY:
On Thursday, January 12, 2017 at about 7:00 pm, Amy Simms and Alisa Henderson had a visit with inmate Brian Godden at the Morongo Basin Jail in Joshua Tree. During their visit, sheriff’s department employees were monitoring the visits when they noticed Simms was sticking something through the security glass. Deputy Amanda Thomas witnessed the incident and notified deputies inside the jail of a security breach. Godden was removed from the visiting room and searched. Several small straws (coffee stirrers) containing methamphetamine were located on Godden’s person. Simms and Henderson were removed from the visiting room and detained for investigation. Several straws containing methamphetamine were also located in Simms possession.
Simms and Henderson were both arrested and booked for Penal Code 182(a)(1) – Conspiracy to commit a felony and Penal Code 4573 – Bringing narcotics into a jail facility; in lieu of $25,000 bail each.
Inmate Brian Godden was booked on new charges of PC 182(a)(1) and PC 4573 with a new bail set at $25,000.
