21 year old suspect arrested in connection to 16 motor vehicle break-ins in the Sandy Cross Area

Incident Date: 01/04/2017 and 01/05/2017 Location: Bend of The River Road, NC 58, Joyner Road, Bone Cut Off Road, and Volunteer Road areas.

On January 4-5 of 2017, Nash County Sheriff’s Office responded to multiple vehicle break-ins in the Bend of The River Road, NC 58, Joyner Road, Bone Cut Off Road, and Volunteer Road areas. During the vehicle break-ins, items such as currency, firearms, and other items of value were taken from the vehicles. Nash County Sheriff’s Office Detectives meticulously followed up on leads and were able to develop Alex Braswell as a suspect.
As a result of the ongoing investigation, Alex Braswell was charged with 16 counts of Break or Enter a Motor Vehicle, 6 counts of Misdemeanor Larceny, Simple Possession of Schedule IV Controlled Substance, Maintain vehicle/dwelling/place for controlled Substance, Larceny of a firearm, and Possession of a stolen firearm. Alex Braswell was also identified as currently being on probation during the time of the incidents. Alex Braswell received a $90,000.00 secured bond with first court appearance set for Thursday, January 12, 2017 in Nashville District Court.
