On January 12, 2017, the Nash County Sheriff’s Office responded to a vehicle break-in on Langwood Way, Rocky Mount, NC 27803. While on scene, Nash County Sheriff’s Office Deputies heard gunshots in the area and eventually located Michael Stroupe with a stolen handgun in his possession. Through diligent investigation and follow-up, it was determined that Michael Stroupe was involved in several vehicle break-ins in the area.
Michael Stroupe was charged with 8 counts of Break or Enter a Motor Vehicle, 3 counts of Larceny of a Firearm, 2 counts of Possession by Firearm by Felon, Possession of Stolen Firearm, 4 counts of Misdemeanor Larceny, and 4 counts of Possession of Stolen Property. During the time of the incident Michael Stroupe was out on Parole. Michael Stroupe received a $90,000.00 secured bond with first court appearance set for Friday, January 13, 2017 in Nashville District Court.
