Wanted Felon Surrenders To APD K-9
On Friday, January 13, 2017, the Anderson Police Department responded to the Anderson Meadows Apartment Complex, located in the 2500 block of Highway 273 in Anderson for a report of a disturbance involving a female armed with sticks and knives.
Anderson Police Officers responded to the scene and contacted the reporting party who stated Sandra Lee PICKETT, age 37, of Anderson, was under the influence of drugs and armed with a knife in her apartment. The reporting party indicated PICKETT was destroying the interior of one of the apartments.
A records check revealed PICKETT to have a felony warrant and a misdemeanor warrant for her arrest, and for her to be on felony probation out of Shasta County for robbery.
Due to PICKETT’s reported behavior and her possibly being armed with a knife, Anderson Police Officers deployed K-9 Aero to the front door of the apartment and ordered PICKETT to surrender. PICKETT complied with the officer’s request and surrendered without any further incident.
During the arrest process PICKETT made several suicidal statements to officers asking them to shoot her. PICKETT was subsequently transported and booked into the Shasta County Jail on her warrants.
