School Crossing Guard
The Thurmont Police Department is looking for one School Crossing Guard to help our children safely cross intersections near schools in Thurmont.
Crossing Guards must be available in the morning before school and after school, five days a week during the school year. This is a paid part-time position within the Police Department. Crossing Guards must provide their own transportation to assigned area, scheduled trainings, etc.
Applicant must successfully pass a background investigation prior to employment, and must be capable of standing for one to two hours at a time in all weather conditions. This position is subject to random drug testing.
Applicants must be 18 years of age or older, but no experience is necessary, and all training is provided. Must be a U.S.A. citizen, have a high school diploma or equivalent, and must have the ability to develop and maintain effective, courteous working relationships with the school staff, children and their family members, motorists, and the general public.
