Notable Arrest - Assault with a Deadly Weapon
SOUTH PASADENA, CA – On Saturday, January 22 at about 12:54 am, SPPD officers responded to the 1700 block of Grevelia Street after reports of an assault with a deadly weapon that had just occurred. Officers were informed of a physical altercation that had occurred between two males with one of the males being struck in the head by a glass bottle. Officers responded to the area and were informed that the suspect had fled the location towards Garfield Park. The suspect, a 23 year old male was found in Garfield Park bleeding from multiple lacerations to his face and head. The suspect was transported to the hospital by the South Pasadena Fire Department for the treatment of his wounds.
After further investigation, officers learned that the suspect received the wounds to his face and head from being struck multiple times by an aluminum baseball bat by the victim a 15 year old male. All parties involved were interviewed and the investigation subsequently led to the arrest of the 15 year old male for assault with a deadly weapon.
