ROSELAND INSIDER
THE ROSELAND INSIDER
Mayor John Duthie and the Governing Body offer the following safety tips for the Nor’easter that is making its way to our area. Dangerous winds and heavy rain are predicated to begin this afternoon. The safest place to be during high winds is indoors.
Check the area outside your home for unsecured objects such as tree limbs, garbage cans, yard debris as they can project towards your home or car and cause damage
Anchor objects such as gas grills or propane tanks
Close and secure patio umbrellas and furniture
Bring loose objects indoors such as planters, garbage cans, garden tools, toys
Avoid down power lines or anything that may be touching down power lines. To report a downed wire or power outages contact PSE&G 1-800-436-PSEG
Charge cell phones, tablets and other battery powered devices
Check your supply of flashlights, blankets, nonperishable food, bottled water
If you are driving during high winds keep both hands on the wheel and slow down, watch for objects blowing across the roadway and keep a safe distance from cars in adjacent lanes
