Loogootee: A Loogootee pair was arrested Friday on numerous drug charges after a trooper recognized one as being wanted from a previous case.
Senior Trooper Jarrod Lents was conducting a traffic stop in front of the White River Co-op on US 50 in Loogootee, and was returning to his patrol car when he observed 41 year old Joshua Jones of Loogootee drive past. Lents recognized Jones as being wanted on charges stemming from a November 5, 2016 case that he helped to investigate. Lents caught up to Jones on Dover Hill Road, pulling him over in his driveway. Lents placed Jones into handcuffs and detained Jones’ passenger, 24 year old Faith Chestnut of Loogootee, before asking for the assistance of the Martin County Sheriff’s K9 units.
While speaking with Jones and Chestnut, officers learned that Chestnut was holding a pipe used for smoking methamphetamine, and marijuana. Jones and Chestnut were transported to the Martin County Jail, without incident.
