Vehicle burglaries and thefts of trailers have increased in the past few weeks in Port Neches. 
On this date officers responded to four auto burglaries that occurred on Meadowbrook, Eveningview and Estes streets. Nothing was found to be missing so far, but all the vehicles were rummaged through sometime early this morning or late the night of 1/23/2017. Also, within the last two weeks there had been some thefts of utility trailers and an ATV. Two trailers and an ATV have been recovered and returned to their owners. In each of the aforementioned cases the vehicles were not secured, the trailers were visible and not secured and the ATV was visible and not secured. The Police Dept. would like to remind citizens to remove valuables and lock their vehicles. Trailers can be secured with a tongue lock and/or chain and lock. Also, report any suspicious activity immediately to the Police Dept.
