On Tuesday, January 24, 2017, the Sausalito Police Department held a “Coffee with a Cop” event at Sausalito Bakery & Cafe, 571 Bridgeway, from 10AM to 11AM. The goal of “Coffee with a Cop” is to break down barriers between police officers and citizens by creating an envoirnment where open communication between officers and citizens is encouraged. These informal and personal conversations allow the citizens to ask officers questions, voice their concerns, and to get to know the officers better.

During this event, Sausalito Police Officers spoke to numerous citizens from a wide cross section of the community regarding numerous topics such as, but not limited to, the law enforcement profession, crime, traffic, and quality of life issues in Sausalito, world news, family, sports, and entertainment.

The Sausalito Police Department will be holding additional “Coffee with a Cop” events in future months.
