Around noon today, Los Altos Police Officers received a call from a resident reporting suspicious individuals entering backyards near the intersection of Newcastle Drive and Holt Avenue.  A separate report indicated there was also a suspicious vehicle associated with those seen entering backyards.  Officers responded immediately and made contact with one individual located inside the vehicle.

During contact with this individual, Officers received another report of suspects fleeing a backyard on Morton Avenue.  Further reports indicated a residential burglary had occurred in the area of Newcastle Drive and Holt Avenue.

Shortly thereafter, Officers observed two individuals matching the description of the outstanding suspects running into a backyard on Fallen Leaf Lane near Clay Drive. Mountain View and Los Altos Police set-up a perimeter and began searching the area. Officers successfully located the two suspects and took them into custody. The person in the vehicle was found to be in possession of a loaded firearm and was also taken into custody.
