Yellow Level Travel Advisory Issued For Hamilton County As Overnight Snow Leaves Slick Spots on County Roads.
A yellow level Travel Advisory has been issued for unincorporated roads in Hamilton County, effective Friday, January 27, until further notice. This is the lowest level of local travel advisory and means that routine travel or activities may be restricted in areas because of a hazardous situation. Individuals should use caution or avoid those areas. Unincorporated roads are those roads maintained by Hamilton County, usually roads outside cities and towns.
Roads around the county, especially less traveled roads, are slick due to overnight snowfall. There have been several crashes and slide offs around the county as drivers encounter slippery areas after driving on dry pavement.
As a reminder with winter driving, reduce speeds, leave extra room between vehicles, make sure all windows are clear of snow and ice, turn on lights to increase visibility even during the day, and make sure to keep an emergency kit along with a fully charged cell phone handy. In case of a slide off or crash, contact Hamilton County Public Safety Communications at 317-773-1282 or 9-1-1 for an emergency.
