HMPD Officer Arrests Man for Narcotics.
On Monday, January 23, 2017 at approximately 12:30pm, a Hope Mills Police Officer stopped a Chevy Trailblazer on Camden Road for a registration violation. Upon making contact with the driver, Demar Marquis Thomas, 26 of the 2800 block of Little Drive, Fayetteville, the Officer became suspicious that there were narcotics contained within the vehicle. Following a search of the vehicle, the Officer located cocaine, marijuana, illegally obtained prescription pills, and various types of drug paraphernalia. After locating the narcotics, the Officer placed Thomas under arrest and transported him to the Cumberland County Detention Center where he was jailed under a $500,000.00 bond for the following charges:
1 Felony Count of Possession with Intent to Sell and Deliver Cocaine
1 Felony Count of Possession with Intent to Sell and Deliver Marijuana
1 Felony Count of Possession with Intent to Sell and Deliver a Schedule IV Controlled Substance
1 Felony Count of Possession with Intent to Sell and Deliver Oxycodone
1 Felony Count of Maintaining a Vehicle for the purpose selling a controlled substance
1 Misdemeanor Count of Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
