Earlier this evening, a juvenile, age 13, was seriously injured while riding his bicycle at the Community Skate Park. The juvenile crashed, landed on his head, causing a gash and he went unconscious.

The juvenile was transported via the REACH Helicopter to the Oakland Children's Hospital for treatment. His injures are NOT expected to be life threatening.

Unfortunately, the juvenile was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash. The Sebastopol Police Department would like to remind everyone helmets are required for persons of all ages at the Community Skate Park. Additionally, bicycles are prohibited from being used at the Skate Park.
