Methamphetamine In Cup Holder Results In Drug Sales Arrest
On January 29, 2017, at about 11:00 PM, an Officer with the Anderson Police Department conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle driven by Carl STIVASON, age 31, of Anderson, for a vehicle code violation.
Upon walking up to the vehicle the officer noticed a plastic baggy containing methamphetamine to be sitting on the top of a beverage in the cup holder of the vehicle. STIVASON was detained and a search of the vehicle was conducted.
The search revealed an additional amount of methamphetamine, heroin, and prescription medications packaged for sales, as well as a stun gun and a billy club. A records check on STIVASON revealed him to be a convicted felon, barring him from possessing a stun gun.
During the investigation STIVASON displayed objective symptoms of recent drug use. A Drug Recognition Expert (DRE) conducted an evaluation of STIVASON and found him to be driving under the influence of a drug.
STIVASON was arrested and booked into the Shasta County Jail on charges of possession/transportation of a controlled substance for sales, DUI drug, possession of a stun gun by a felon, and possession of a billy club.
