Child's lemonade stand becomes victim to thief.
On Sunday, 1-29-17, at about 1010 hours, the Sebastopol Police Department received a call from the mother of a 9 year old girl. The mother stated that her daughter, and her daughter's friend, also 9 years old, had set up a lemonade stand on the sidewalk fronting their residence on the 400 block of Pleasant Hill Avenue North. The two girls went inside for a minute. When the girls returned to the stand they found that someone had stolen their lemons, $10 in cash from sales the day before and a 4' tall stuffed giraffe. The two girls were heartbroken over the theft.
After hearing about the theft, the Sebastopol Toy Works donated a stuffed aligator, a patron at the store who overheard the story donated $20, Whole Foods donated a wooden crate for lemons and Sebastopol police officers, dispatchers and the police union donated $50 to the girls. We would like to thank all who donated, we know the girls were very happy and thankful for the donations.
