Anderson Woman Arrested After Refusing To Stop
Muncie – An Anderson woman who was wanted on five warrants was arrested after she led police on a pursuit through Delaware County last evening. The events started around 7:05 p.m. last night when Trooper Sam Cook clocked a black Mercury, north bound on SR 67 around CR 400 S., at 92 M.P.H. in the 55 M.P.H. zone.
Cook turned around on the vehicle and caught up attempting to stop it. The vehicle refused to stop and continued north on SR67 at a high rate of speed. The vehicle eventually turned east onto Eaton-Albany Pike, where Eaton Police officers joined the pursuit. After a series of turns, the vehicle ended up back north bound on SR 67 in Albany, where Albany Police joined the pursuit.
In the 9000 block of SR 67, around the Muncie Drag Strip, the right front suspension gave out on the car and it stopped. The driver, Ashley D. Patterson, age 28 of Anderson, was taken into custody and charged with Felony Resisting Law Enforcement and Misdemeanor Reckless Driving. Patterson was also found to have five outstanding warrants, one of which was for Resisting Law Enforcement. Patterson was lodged in the Delaware County Jail.
Trooper Cook was assisted by Troopers Tinch and Mason, who were off duty but in their cars in the area when the pursuit started, and by the Eaton and Albany Police Departments.
