PRESS RELEASE
Downey, CA, February 05, 2017:
On February 05, 2017, at approximately 8:30 p.m., the Downey Police Department was notified by Warren High School Administration of a threat posted on social media by a student. The threat implied violence at the school towards students and staff. Through our investigation with the assistance of Warren High School Administration, the suspect, a 16 year old student, was identified and arrested.
At this time we believe the student acted alone in the threat and had no direct intention of carrying out the threat. Warren High School has been advised and school will be in session as scheduled.
