Southern Museum “Trains” Event Offers Family Fun

Kennesaw, Ga. (January 26, 2017) – The Southern Museum of Civil War & Locomotive History will host the seventh annual installment of its popular “Trains, Trains, Trains” event on Saturday and Sunday, January 28 – 29, from 9:30 am – 5:00 pm.

This year’s event will include new and expanded layouts that offer attendees the opportunity to interact with and operate a variety of model trains. In addition, railroad artifacts from the Museum’s extensive archive collection will be on display for visitor’s to hold, touch, and learn about. An expanded General Emporium gift shop will offer a wide range of all-new train and railroad-themed items that are available exclusively at the “Trains, Trains, Trains” event.

Athens Bend Track returns this year to team with South Carolina Bend Track and create a massive N-Scale layout in the Cobb Energy Gallery. Other participants include Middle Georgia Model Railroad Club, the Chattanooga Modular Modelers, the Georgia Tinplate Trackers, and North Atlanta O-Gauge.

Live railroad music will be performed throughout the event by a variety of local bluegrass bands.
