Chula Vista Library and AARP Offer Free Tax Preparatio
Tax preparation season has arrived and the Chula Vista Public Library is here to relieve the stress. The library and its annual partner, AARP, have teamed up again to offer free tax preparation assistance at two of its branches. AARP's trained volunteers, including English-Spanish speakers are now working the following days and times:
Civic Center Library, 365 F Street, Mondays and Wednesdays, from 10 a.m. to 2 pm, through Wednesday, April 12.
South Chula Vista Branch Library, 389 Orange Avenue, Tuesdays and Thursdays, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., through April 13.
No appointments will be taken; first come, first served. AARP volunteers are trained through the AARP two-week Tax Aide Program, and are available at the libraries on a first-come, first-served basis. Special attention will be given to residents over the age of 60 and low and middle income residents. Last year, AARP assisted 956 Chula Vista residents with tax preparation in the two libraries. Paper copies of most basic tax forms and booklets are available at both branch libraries. For more information, visit the Chula Vista Library or call (619) 691-5069.
