Good Wednesday morning everyone. The following are the calls for service and activities for the Sheriff’s Office for 2/7/17.

-6500 blk Bear Rd, Smyer: Disturbance. Deputies were dispatched to locate a residence in the area related to a disturbance. The call was transferred from another county. Deputies searched the area, including residences along Bear Rd, and did not locate any disturbances.

-FM 597 at Hwy 84, Anton: Fire. A deputy was patrolling in the area and observed smoke in the area. The deputy located a fire in the area and contacted the fire department. Anton Fire Department responded to the scene.

-300 blk 6th St, Whitharral: Theft. A deputy responded to a residence in reference to livestock theft. The complainant stated an individual known to him had taken two birds from him, but did not want to file criminal charges. Information for a report was collected.

-6800 blk Hwy 114: Civil Issue. A deputy was dispatched to a residence in the area related to a civil issue. Remedies were advised.

-400 blk Ranch Rd, Ropesville: Suicidal Subject. Deputies were dispatched to attempt to locate a possible suicidal subject. Information was collected from the caller and the subject was located in Lubbock County by the local law enforcement agency.

-Hwy 114 at FM 168, Smyer: Road Hazard. A deputy was dispatched to the area related to a road hazard. The item was located and the roadway was cleared.

-800 blk Avenue C, Levelland: Assist Levelland PD. Deputies assisted Levelland PD with a call of suspicious activity in the area.

Deputies conducted close patrols/vacation watches, civil process service, patrols in all areas of the county, and traffic enforcement activities.

Jail Population as of 2/8/17 at 0800 hrs: 43 in Hockley County, and 32 out-of-county.
