UPDATE 2/9/17 @ 7:45am - Snake River Canyon / S Hwy 89 has once again CLOSED in both directions per WYDOT due to avalanches. Although one lane was open for a short period of time, WYDOT advises the road is once again closed.
Additionally, WYDOT has advised that Highway 22 Teton Pass will remain CLOSED through at least 8:00am on Saturday 2/11/17.
WYDOT's No Unnecessary Travel advisory remains in place for all state highways in Teton County. Visit http://wyoroad.info for the latest information on these closures.
Teton County Emergency Management strongly urges travelers to consider the importance of their trip and do not drive in conditions beyond your ability. With the approaching storm and rain expected, do not drive through flood waters. As little as 1 foot of water can displace a vehicle.
Backcountry activity is NOT ADVISED at this time. Heavy snow above 8,000' and rain up to 8,000' will combine to create dangerous avalanche conditions. An Avalanche Warning, Winter Storm Warning, and Flood Watch have all been issued for Teton County. Visit www.weather.gov/riw for more information on weather conditions and http://jhavalanche.org for more information on avalanche conditions.
