GPD Investigating Bicyclist for Hit & Run
The Glendale Police Department is investigating a felony Hit & Run collision involving a bicyclist that struck a pedestrian. The incident occurred Tuesday evening on February 7th at approximately 6:00 pm at the intersection of Brand Boulevard and Caruso Avenue near The Americana.
The victim was a 64 year old woman legally crossing the street in a marked crosswalk. A bicyclist that was traveling southbound Brand Boulevard failed to stop at the red light and collided into the pedestrian. The force of the collision caused the pedestrian to fall on the ground and struck her head on the asphalt. The bicyclist, who was only described as a male wearing a dark jacket, was fully aware of what occurred and fled the scene. The pedestrian was transported to the hospital with significant head and facial injuries requiring surgery.
Anyone who may have witnessed this incident or has any information is asked to contact the Glendale Police Department at 818-548-4911.
