One male & one female in custody after leading GCSO Deputies in pursuit thru western Greene County
On Thursday, 02/09/17, a Greene County Sheriff's Deputy attempted to stop a green Honda passenger car due to possible impaired driving. The driver failed to stop and led Deputies in a pursuit through western Greene County along West State Highway 266 and North State Highway AB; Deputies deployed stop sticks which deflated two of the vehicle's tires.
The vehicle became disabled in the area of West Chestnut Expressway and South Orchard Crest Avenue. After a brief foot pursuit, the 20-year old male driver was apprehended; the 48-year old female passenger was taken into custody without incident. No other vehicles were damaged and no one sustained any injuries.
Upon further investigation, it was determined the Honda passenger vehicle had been reported stolen to the Springfield Police Department. Both the male and female were transported to the Greene County Jail and charges will be submitted to the Greene County Prosecuting Attorney's Office for further review.
*A charge is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.*
