One Transported After A Car Runs Into The Back of School Bus
Delaware County – This morning just after 8 a.m. a report came in of a car under the back of a Delta School Bus on SR 28 in the area of CR 100 W. Troopers arrived to find an east bound bus had stopped to pick up a child at 1311 SR 28 when a car behind it failed to yield and struck the back of the bus.
The car, a 2009 Hyundai, driven by Lisa Caitlin, age 24 of West Lafayette, ran under the back of the bus as it sat waiting to pick up a child. Luckily, the child had not yet begun to board the bus as the impact occurred. No children on the bus were injured.
The bus received little damage, and all lights on the bus were found to be operating correctly at the time of the crash. Caitlin was transported from the scene to I.U. Health’s Ball Memorial Hospital, in Muncie, to be checked out for complaint of pain, with her injuries believed to be minor.
Trooper Kyle West investigated the crash and was assisted by the Delaware County Sheriff’s Department and Hamilton Township Fire Department.
