Hockley County Sheriff's Office activities and calls for service for 2/10/17 through 2/12/17.
Good Monday afternoon. The following are calls for service and activities for the Sheriff’s Office for Friday, 2/10/17 through Sunday, 2/12/17.
2/10/17
-1700 blk S FM 2646: Animal Complaint. A deputy was dispatched to a residence regarding an animal complaint. Remedies were advised.
-3400 blk S FM 2646: Civil Matter. A deputy was dispatched to meet with a complainant about a child custody issue. Civil remedies were advised.
-6800 blk E Hwy 114: Assault. Deputies responded to a reported felony assault at a residence in the area. A victim reported being strangled and assaulted by a spouse. The matter was investigated and an arrest warrant was later issued related to the offense. The suspect was located in Lubbock and taken into custody by Lubbock County deputies.
-6800 blk Bearcat Rd: Suspicious Vehicle. A deputy was dispatched to the area related to a possible suspicious vehicle.
-6900 blk Elephant Rd: Criminal Mischief. A deputy met with a complainant about damage to property. A report was taken for Criminal Mischief related to damage to a vehicle. The matter is under investigation.
-100 blk E Hwy 114: Disturbance. A deputy was dispatched to a reported verbal disturbance. No offenses were reported and the involved persons left the area.
-E Hwy 114 at FM 168, Smyer: Grass Fire. Deputies provided traffic control assistance in the area related to a large grass fire.
-Onion Shed Rd at Hwy 84, Anton: Loose Livestock. Deputies responded to reported loose livestock in the area. The animal was located and secured.
-100 blk Arnett, Ropesville: Assist EMS. EMS transporting a patient from New Mexico to Lubbock requested assistance. The patient was transferred to Wolfforth EMS, who completed the transport.
-6800 blk E FM 41, Ropesville: Suspicious Activity. Deputies responded to a call of reported suspicious persons. It was determined that individuals were in need of assistance after they got their vehicle stuck on a dirt road. A wrecker was notified to assist.
-1800 blk Avenue I Place, Levelland: Assist Levelland PD. Deputies assisted by responding to a disturbance at a residence. One subject was arrested for an active warrant by Levelland officers and transported to the jail.
-800 blk N Alamo Rd: Suspicious Vehicle. A caller advised of a suspicious vehicle in the area. The area was searched and no vehicle was located.
-6800 blk E Hwy 114: Assault. Deputies responded to a reported physical assault that had occurred. It was determined the suspect fled the area prior to arrival of deputies. A report was completed.
-1700 blk Owl Rd: Theft. A complainant reported a vehicle was removed from her property, possibly by a former spouse. A report was taken and the matter is under investigation.
-1600 blk Avenue S: Alarm. Deputies were dispatched to an alarm at a building in the area. The building was checked and the owner arrived on scene. No offenses reported.
2/11/17
-100 blk 3rd St, Whitharral: Death. Deputies responded to a reported death at a residence. Justice of the Peace assisted and no criminal report was initiated.
-3400 blk FM 2646: Disturbance. Deputies were dispatched to a disturbance at a residence. It was determined to be a verbal disturbance over child custody. No offenses were reported.
-2900 blk FM 597, Assist THP. Deputies responded to assist with a vehicle crash. The crash was worked by THP and deputies assisted with traffic control.
-100 blk Lawrence, Anton: Forgery. A deputy was dispatched to speak with a complainant about counterfeit money. The bill was examined and determined to be authentic.
-4000 blk India Rd: Driving While Intoxicated. Deputies were dispatched to a possible disabled vehicle in the area. The vehicle was located attempting to leave the area and a traffic contact was initiated. During an investigation the driver was determined to be intoxicated and was placed under arrest for a felony DWI offense.
-3200 blk N FM 2130, Anton: Suspicious Vehicle. A deputy responded to a call about a vehicle puling behind the caller’s residence. The complainant provided a vehicle description and the area was searched. The vehicle had left the area prior to arrival of deputies. It is believed an individual may have also stolen a small amount of fuel.
-500 blk Avenue G, Levelland: Assist Levelland PD. Deputies responded to assist Levelland officers at a disturbance.
-3600 bk Angle Iron Rd: Shots Fired. Deputies were notified of shots being fired in the area. A vehicle was observed leaving the area and the occupants were contacted. They advised they had been shooting bottles and following an investigation were released from the scene. No criminal offenses were reported.
2/12/17
-1300 blk 2nd Street, Levelland: Assist Levelland PD. A deputy was dispatched to assist officers at the scene of a disturbance.
-1800 blk N FM 1490: Suspicious Vehicle. Deputies responded to the area related to a suspicious vehicle seen in a field near the caller’s residence. The vehicle was locating as it was leaving the area. The driver was identified and had been moving bales from one farm location to another. No offenses reported.
-500 blk Tarver, Anton: Domestic Disturbance. Deputies responded to a reported verbal disturbance at a residence. One of the parties left the residence prior to arrival of deputies, but was later located in the area. No offenses were reported and parties were separated.
-1310 Avenue H, LEC: Jail Issue. Deputies were requested to assist with an issue at the jail involving an inmate. No offenses were reported and the matter was handled.
-1800 blk Kelly Rd: Theft. A complainant reported a firearm was stolen from the residence. Deputies initiated an investigation and determined a .25 caliber pistol had been taken. A suspect was identified and the matter is under investigation.
-200 blk Hickory, Levelland. Warrant Arrest. Deputies took one person into custody after determining the individual had an active felony warrant in Lubbock. The individual was arrested and transported without incident.
Deputies also conducted close patrols/vacation watches, patrols in multiple areas of the county, traffic enforcement activities and follow up investigations.
Jail Population as of 2/13/17 at 0800 hours: 50 in Hockley County, 27 out of county.
