Good Tuesday morning. The following are the calls for service and activities for the Sheriff’s Office for 2/13/17.

-100 blk Veretto Rd, Levelland: 911 Hang-up. A deputy was dispatched to a residence regarding a 911 hang-up. Multiple attempts were made to contact residents but no one was at the location. Dispatchers attempted to contact the residence again and were not able to connect a call.

-FM 597 at Hwy 385, Whitharral: Vehicle Crash. Deputies responded to assist with a vehicle crash in the area. The scene was released to THP on their arrival.

-Jamaica Rd at FM 303: Loose Livestock. Deputies responded to locate loose livestock in the area. The area was searched and none were located.

-FM 3261 at Cactus Dr, Levelland: Animal Complaint. Deputies were asked to check the condition of a horse in the area. Other livestock was located, but no horses.

-6600 blk Wolf Rd, Ropesville: Environmental Complaint. A deputy was dispatched to a residence in the area related to a leaking septic system and runoff onto the roadway. After speaking with parties, the complaint was referred to the county official responsible for environmental inspections.

-FM 1585 at Bob White Rd: Vehicle Crash. Deputies responded to a vehicle crash and assisted THP on scene.

-FM 168 at Hwy 114, Smyer: Motorist Assist. A deputy stopped to check on a possible stranded motorist. Another citizen also stopped to assist and they got the vehicle started.

-200 bk E Slaughter, Sundown: Assist Sundown PD. A deputy stopped to assist a Sundown officer on a traffic contact and warrant arrest. The individual was taken into custody by Sundown PD and transported to the jail without incident.

Deputies also conducted close patrols/vacation watches, patrols in areas of the county, civil process service, and investigation follow-up activities.

Jail Population as of 2/14/17 at 0800 hours: 65 in Hockley County, 24 out-of-county.
