On Wednesday, February 15, 2017, a Santa Rosa Junior College student lost their car keys in the area of the Tauzer Gymnasium on the Santa Rosa Campus. With the current information, the District Police suspect an unknown person(s) found the keys and used the keyless remote to locate student’s car and then took it without permission. The student’s car is a 2006 black Ford Fusion sedan which was parked on the 3rd floor of the SRJC Parking Garage. The District Police estimate that the car was taken between 11:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m.
The investigation is ongoing and the District Police are asking anyone who was in the area and may have witnessed anything suspicious or anyone who has any information to come forward by contacting our dispatch center at (707)527-1000. The SRJC District Police is always actively patrolling. Please do your part in being safe on campus by doing the following:
• Secure personal property on your person or safely in a bag, purse, etc.
• Don’t leave your personal belongings unattended.
• Before leaving a building, classroom, locker room, etc., check the immediate area to ensure no personal items are left behind.
• Promptly turn in any found property to a District staff member or to the District Police Department.
• Do not wait to report lost or stolen keys, wallets or other high value items.
We would also like to remind the SRJC community the SRJC is an open campus and allows the public to use its facilities for educational and enrichment purposes. While the SRJC campuses are relatively safe environments, they are not crime free. Please to be aware of your surroundings while on campus and immediately report any suspicious persons or activities to (707) 527-1000. IF YOU SEE SOMETHING, SAY SOMETHING!
